Testing Payments in the Sandbox

Complete a sandbox test payment end to end — checkout, confirmation, and webhook

Use this guide when you integrate against the RedotPay Connect sandbox and need to complete a test payment end to end (checkout, confirmation, and webhook).

This applies whether you use Paylink (hosted checkout) or Open API (custom UI). You must still create orders and configure webhooks as described in the integration guide.

Before you start

  1. Use sandbox API credentials and sandbox base URL (not production).
  2. Configure a webhook URL that can receive sandbox callbacks.
  3. Create a test order and open the sandbox checkout (Paylink redirect or payment info from Open API).

Important: RedotPay app and QR codes

In the sandbox environment, the RedotPay QR code on the checkout page can only be scanned with RedotPay's internal test app. The production RedotPay app cannot pay sandbox orders.

To complete a test payment, choose one of the options below.

Option 1: Pay with a testnet wallet

Supported test network: Ethereum Sepolia

1. Set up a wallet

Use a wallet that supports Ethereum Sepolia (for example MetaMask) and switch the network to Sepolia.

2. Get test ETH for gas

Obtain a small amount of Sepolia ETH from any public Sepolia faucet to cover network fees.

3. Get test USDC

  1. Open https://faucet.circle.com/
  2. Select USDC as the asset and Ethereum Sepolia as the network
  3. Enter your test wallet address in Send to
  4. Complete the verification (for example reCAPTCHA) and click Send 20 USDC (the amount may vary as shown on the page)

4. Confirm in your wallet

Make sure the network is Sepolia. If USDC does not appear, add it manually using the Sepolia USDC contract address:

0x1c7D4B196Cb0C7B01d743Fbc6116a902379C7238

5. Pay the order

On the sandbox checkout page, choose the wallet payment option and pay with your test USDC. After the payment is confirmed, RedotPay sends a payment webhook to your configured webhook URL.

Test tokens have no real value and are for testing only.

Option 2: Ask us to pay on your behalf

If you want to test payment via the RedotPay app (test app scanning the sandbox QR), send us the order ID or payment link. Our team completes the payment using the test app:

After payment succeeds, verify order status via your integration and webhook payload. See the Webhook documentation.
